About Hereditary Pancreatic Cancer

Approximately 5-10% of all pancreatic cancers are hereditary, meaning they are caused by an inherited genetic variant. Hereditary pancreatic cancer is often associated with specific genetic syndromes that are passed down through families. Common genetic conditions linked to hereditary pancreatic cancer include BRCA2 variants, Lynch Syndrome (MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, PMS2, and EPCAM variants), and Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP, APC variants).
